Video Production Internship
At this moment, we’ve got an opportunity for a new video production internship to start with us in 2020 lasting for at least 3 months. During this, we’ll take you on as a full team member and together we’ll go through our pre-production, production and post-production stages. Based on your learning goals, we’ll work out a personalised track to get you the experience you need to become a professional. It will give you a chance to work with cinema standard equipment such as RED Digital Cinema and Phantom Slow Motion cameras.
So, what do you need to do to apply for this position? Please follow the steps below:
- Create a video between 1 and 2 minutes in which you answer the following questions: Who are you and what can you do? what can you contribute to the team?, where do your strengths and weaknesses in video production lie and what do you want to learn during your time here. The structure of the video is completely up to you and you can be as creative as you like.
- Send an unlisted link of the video to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please do not send us your CV or an extended cover letter. Only state your details and link to the video in your covering email. We will solely judge on the potential we see in you from the the content and quality of your video. Within 10 working days, you’ll hear if you are successful to enter the second stage of this application process.
- If successful, we’ll have a skype conversation about your video. You will not be penalised for the equipment you used, however an explanation on your approach to planning, filming and editing the video will be discussed in this video interview. The final decision will be made after the skype interviews.
Yes, this is an unpaid internship. Here at Film Division HQ, we take training the next generation of video producers serious. We will invest our time and energy to teach you everything we know about video production. Together, we’ll develop a plan for you to grow as a video producer. As such, you’ll spend a lot of time learning and developing instead of working on Film Division projects.
Please note that, should you be successful in your application, you will be due to start at Film Division in 2020 and be living and primarily working in Birmingham, UK. If it is preferable you can start earlier.
Thank you and good luck!
