However, not every video production company has a high speed camera available.

With nearly 3000FPS at HD and 1666FPS at 2.5K, this camera creates stunning high speed imagery. Looking for more frames per second? The Phantom VEO640S can shoot 10,000FPS at 480p. So whether your looking to go all scientific or filmic, the VEO640S is the right tool for the job.
Phantom VEO4K
The Phantom Flex4K is an established name in the cinematic industry. Even so, it is quite a bulky piece of kit. The new Phantom VEO4K has the same sensor and frame rate options but weighs less than half of the Flex4K. With 4K becoming the new universal standard, there is no more need to upscale footage in post production. 1000FPS in 4K will give you everything you need to create future proof cinematic content.
Both of these High Speed beasts have their own specific context of use. Although this may be true, there are a few things to consider when planning a slow motion video shoot:
Lighting For Slow Motion
Both the VEO640S and the VEO4K eat light for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It’s really difficult to have too much light. Although these cameras are a major upgrade from the old Phantom HD Gold, we always use flicker free 2.5K HMI lights. Again it’s a case of ensuring image quality. You don’t want to be spending an entire day, creating the perfect slow motion shoot and find loads of flicker on your footage.
Cine Lenses
Video producer will tell you that your lens matters. The same goes for shooting high speed footage with the Phantom VEO640S or Phantom VEO4K. When working in these light sensitive conditions, we have to make sure we’ve got a lens that goes down to at least T 2.1.
